About Classic Pebble

As you peruse Tile Connection, you'll notice a number of pebble products. Spoiler alert: we love pebbles. But these are no ordinary pebbles. Not only are they gathered from the finest beaches in Bali, but they're specially drafted for strength, durability, and timelessness.

Let's look first at the OG of the group: The Classic Pebble.

Classic pebbles are round topped, 12" x 12" x 1/2" tiles that are suitable for:

  • Interior Wall & Floor
  • Kitchen Backsplash & Counter
  • Fireplace Wall & Floor (not in Firebox)
  • Shower Wall & Floor
  • Steam Shower Wall & Floor
  • Exterior Wall
  • Pool, Spa, & Water Feature

Versatile much? The pebbles in Classic Pebble tiles are sourced from Indonesia, where their long beach lines produce bold, smooth, and luxurious pebbles that make wonderful home accents. The back of each pebble is cut to make the tile flat while the top retains its signature curved shape. Classic Pebble comes in a variety of pleasing shades, from bright and modern to dark and moody.

If you're looking to make a statement with your backsplash or shower wall, you can't go wrong with our cream, grey, and light green blend or stark black

And if you're looking to beautifully implement nature's bounties to indoor spaces, opt for the below, the white, tan, or white/grey/black blend:

Thanks to the variation at the edges of these tiles, they're a breeze to install. You can easily fit them together, square by square, to avoid awkward gaps and grouting. For a full run-down on installing Classic Pebble tile, click here

You may be looking at these tiles and wondering "how the heck do you grout this?" But pebble tile DIY installation is possible - and easier than you think. Because the edges are irregular, you have more leeway in case there is a mistake. Check out our grouting pictorial here.

Here's a tip from us to you: focus on blending the sheet lines more than sticking to the floor grid.

The mesh backing of the pebble time we sell is what makes it special. The pebbles are gauged on the back, helping them stay flat and have the best adhesion to the surface. Many pebble producers skip this step, which makes it less durable over time and subject to many pebble problems!

And while pebbles can seem daunting, they do require specialized sealers and cleaning specifications - so don't skip this step!  Some of our favorite high-performance, sanded grout types include Laticrete PERMACOLOR SelectCustom Building Products Prism Color, and Mapei Ultracolor plus FA. Always grout a sample of pebble tile before installation, as the appearance of the stone will always change slightly after grouting. Additionally, Classic Pebble tile should be cleaned with a pH neutral solution created specifically for tile and stone cleaning.
